DESCRIPTION:
Acquiring the right talent is paramount for organization success. To that end, the next question is, "How do we
establish systems and practices that will ensure we are developing our most valuable asset ... people?" To be
competitive in today's global and complex business environment, HR leaders need to put talent management strategies
in place to ensure that money invested in people is targeted, high impact, and results oriented.
In this workshop, participants will obtain applicable concepts and tools for developing talent. Participants will
explore the importance of developing a talent management mindset with a focus on six integrated areas for developing
talent. Participants will be required to leverage their experience (application) and practical research as they
develop skills in talent management best practices. Steve will facilitate an interactive workshop that will provide
the following:
- A framework for linking business strategies with people activities that create a healthy talent-oriented culture for sustained results.
- Methods for creating core competencies for key positions based on assessment data.
- A process for identifying high potential talent based on competencies, past performance, and future potential.
- A process for creating, communicating, and managing high potential talent pools with executive sponsorship.
- A model for reviewing performance systems to ensure that they are designed with a link to organization strategy, core competencies, and they are oriented toward developing talent.
- Review various methods for developing the talent, i.e., executive mentoring, action learning (live business cases), 360 feedback processes, and others.
You can anticipate some good best practice sharing, lively conversation, and an opportunity to ask questions.
