J. Forrest 
J. Forrest has a passion for improving performance and the employee experience. With a unique
combination of O.D., Performance Management and Measurement expertise, J. helps Human Resource
teams combine thoughtful people practices with bottom-line results.
J. has more than 10 years of Performance Improvement consulting experience in a variety of
settings and industries both inside organizations and as an external consultant. As an internal
consultant at Xcel Energy, he co-led the development of their Employee Performance Management
Tool, designed and implemented an internal customer relationship strategy and program that was
recognized by Gantz-Wiley Research and the International Quality and Productivity Center as a
best practice for strategy and results.
As a consultant, some of J.'s most notable accomplishments include:
- Conducted an HR-division level audit that resulted in a 5-point HR Executive Scorecard / Dashboard, an HR re-organization and improved results in all 5 categories;
- Developed, delivered and evaluated a High Performing Team Series that included team formation, conflict awareness, strategic plan development and process to re-evaluate resulting in a healthier more productive team environment.
- Designed and implemented a competency-based assessment and training evaluation process for a 3,500 user PeopleSoft Financials implementation which included 18,000 tests/assessments, 7,500 training evaluations, a competency based interview guide, test-preparation course, process maps and toolkits for affected employees and managers.
His educational background includes a B.A. degree from St. Olaf College with majors in
Political Science and Speech-Communication and an M.Ed. in Human Resource Development from the
University of Minnesota.
J. is also active in the community and currently serves on the Board of Directors at Project for
Pride in Living, St. Luke's Lutheran Church and Lake Harriet Condominium Association.
J. and his family live in Minneapolis.
