Management, Consultants and Trainers".
DESCRIPTION:
This half-day workshop is designed to assist HR leaders in their key role as business partner and
internal consultant to guide leaders in selecting the most appropriate organizational structures.
Typically, leaders make structural decisions too soon, consider only a few options, and forget
about fully implementing the new structure. Sometimes the organizational design hinders, rather
than helps, the business achieve its goals. The lack of implementation follow-through also causes
role confusion, lost time, and uncompleted work.
HR leaders in their role as business partner help leaders succeed in developing strategy, aligning
resources and executing effectively. Structure is a key part of the alignment activities which
build on solid strategy development. The structure option chosen will 1) match strategic decisions
have been made and 2) facilitate the essential core processes of the business.
The workshop will provide a core model, a series of steps, and specific tools that HR business
partners can use to consult with leaders to:
- Understand when and how to define the structure
- Explore structure options for different business strategies
- Use a tool to define the needed strategy
- Take steps to build structure and staff it
- Plan the transition to the new structure
